Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe was raised in a mixed ethnic family. Her mother is English and her father is Nigerian. She was raised in a council estate in the south of London. When she was 14she enrolled in The Brit School. She studied acting in The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, London. At school, she was a part-time actor in several stage productions, such as King Henry V's Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe started her acting career through the film Storm Damage. Since then, Madekwe has appeared in Teachers as well as Doctors. Her first role in a film was Woody Allen's 2007 Cassandra's Dream opposite Colin Farrell, Ewan McGregor. After the film's success, Madekwe played Elisha in the BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN and was featured in six episodes Trexx and Flipside. In 2008, she was offered the part of Bambi on The ITV2 Drama series Secret Diary of a Call Girl and was featured in the episodes two and three. Madekwe was a part of the comedic How to Lose Friends and to annoy people (2008). Some of her theatre credits include Little Sweet Thing (by Roy Williams) and Flight Path (by David Watson).
Madekwe had her official US debut in the 2009 drama The Beautiful Life, which only aired two episodes in the US on The CW before being cancelled. In February, she was cast 2011 as Ashley Davenport on the ABC drama Revenge. In May of 2013, it was announced that Madekwe who had played a regular role in the past two seasons, was to leave the series following a guest appearance in the premier episode of the new season. She played Tituba in the TV series Salem between 2014 and. Madekwe was married to her long-time lover, Iddo. Alongside Secret Diary of a Call Girl they have also worked with each other on Salem and also he played an appearance with her on that show.
Ashley Leggat, a twice Gemini nominated actress was raised in a large family from Hamilton, Ontario. She joined her parents, Roy and Patty and four older brothers -Rob, Brett, and twins Todd and Bram. The four brothers of Ashley, each of them extremely physically active, were all playing hockey in the winters and baseball in the summer months, which means she basically grew up in parks and arenas. Ashley did not have the ability to walk, however she did dance. When she turned two-and-a-half she started Baby Ballet and fell in love. Ashley began to develop a love of dancing after she started Baby Ballet. Ashley participated in the top divisions for jazz, tap ballet, hip hop, lyrical musical theatre, acrobatics and pointe until she graduated high school. In addition, she won the top awards for soloists in every important dance competitions like the International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, among others.
